Downloadable sheet music is handy because you can have it immediately, they may not be the same paper quality of sheet music you can buy already printed, they are not bound, they may not have any commentary on them and that's why they are cheaper. Also they are much easier to produce and sometime you can find works that cannot be found in a printed version.
